This is going to sound like I've been doing a lot of playing and not that much working but it is exactly the opposite. With working 13 hrs a day for four days a week, when my days off come, they consist of doing laundry and cleaning. Over the past couple weeks I have taken some time to play outside but not as much as I would like.
Adventure number one, family reunion in Las Vegas because my grandmother is turning 90 and we all needed some quality family time. This trip consisted of lounging pool side at the south point, BBQ cook out on the back porch of grandma's house, sister bonding time, and crazy story telling. The more I grow up and the more time I spend with my family, I appreciate them more and more. I have such a great relationship with my family and their friends, that I hope my kids cherish and appreciate the same with me. These relationships have become some of the most important relationships that I have built growing up. I love them all to death and I wouldn't be who I am or where I am today if it weren't for any of them.

Hanging pool side to escape that Vegas heat. Happy to se my family together.
Adventure number two: conquering west water canyon in Luna the dream boat. So just two days after getting home from the Vegas trip, I went on a white water rafting trip with a few friends. West water canyon is a stretch of the Colorado river that is full if class 4 rapids one right after another. I was beyond stoked to go and it was super awesome. The best part about it was the maiden voyage of Luna the dream boat, which is a 12ft hyside bucket boat. At the boat put in, the ranger laughed and asked if we were going for the full thrill factor for the day. We all agreed and shouted yes as pushed off. Luna handle perfectly and with ease. This trip was going to be one to remember. We hit every big wave and huge drop and powered through almost everything the larger boats did. Any rapid, wave, and rock is doable when you have a great paddle team. With all of us being experienced river guides, it was the perfect combination of fun, fear, and excitement. We made it out of the canyon with smiles on our faces, a boat filled with water and no tragedies.

The guide and his boat, love at first float.
Adventures number three, four, and five all consist of climbing, gobies, cuts, and bruises. I certainly love this desert life I live but all of this trad climbing is starting to take it's toll on me. I have bruise on the backs of my hands, the bottoms of my feet, and every joint and I love it! The only way to get better is to try harder. I've had several friends come to climb with me, my boyfriend and I have also set out on some new climbing adventures. These adventures have lead to some amazing days, and amazing photos of the beautiful desert landscapes. So not only have I been doing tons of climbing, I've been taking lots of photos. It's been a great summer and fall is off to a great start. I could do with out the rain, because there's no climbing when it rains.
A sandy, struggle, stemming chimney. This was the kick of to the crack season.

With all of these adventure taking place over the past few weeks, it's seems like I've been out having fun, but unfortunately they have been far and few between, work has been consuming most of my time recently. But I'm still finding time to play outside and play with my favorite people. Who needs sleep when there's money to be made and fun to be had.
